Chantix

I'd tried a quit smoking method called Chantix. That was awful. It made me violently ill. I had to get off that, I thought I was going to die!

Has anyone else tried Chantix?

Hi Andres,

I tried a lot of methods to quit smoking but Chantix was never one of them. I had heard too many horror stories and thought it wasn't worth the risk.

Chantix only deals with the physical addiction and as we all know, methods that only deal with the physical addiction never work. The psychological addciton is the one we have to deal with and that is what our system is designed to help with.

I tried Chantix for a while and it did help me to stop smoking for a while. I stopped taking it though because I kept having these really vivid and strange dreams that would constantly wake me up. I ended up being tired all the time and it just wasn't worth it any more.

I had one friend who got very ill while taking it and a family member who became depressed while on the drug. While it may help to stop smoking it is not something I would ever recommend anyone taking.
